RooBook 1.0.17

· build 36

Search vectors for book text are now built on your Mac with BGE-M3.

  • Book text chunks are embedded on your Mac with a bundled BGE-M3 model (1024 dimensions).
  • Added roobook books reembed to rebuild only the vectors of existing books, without calling Codex.
  • The structure inspector's whole-book view now shows the table of contents from the DoclingDocument.
  • Removed support for the legacy figure and structure data that was kept during the migration.

RooBook 1.0.16

· build 35

Chapters and sections are built from page headings, keeping requests to Codex small.

  • Chapters and sections are now built from the headings found while assembling pages, plus the book's table of contents, instead of sending many page images at once. Large books no longer exceed the request size limit.
  • Fixed figure processing that could stall indefinitely while RooBook was throttling work under load.
  • Added roobook books regenerate --dry-run to try every rebuild step without saving anything.

RooBook 1.0.15

· build 34

RooBook now uses the Codex already installed on your Mac instead of bundling its own.

  • Codex is no longer bundled. Install it with brew install codex or the ChatGPT app. Settings and roobook doctor show which Codex is in use.
  • Added a step where Codex assembles the text of each page from the OCR lines.
  • Temporary failures such as a busy model are retried up to three times, with a pause between attempts.
  • Improved how lines that overlap tables and figures are split.
  • roobook books regenerate accepts several books at once.

RooBook 1.0.14

· build 33

Imports and re-analysis are saved with the DoclingDocument as the single source of truth.

  • Imports and re-analysis write the enrichment v2 format, which keeps the DoclingDocument as the single source of truth.
  • When a figure edit in the Reader conflicts with a newer version from another device, RooBook reloads the latest document and tells you.
  • Added roobook books regenerate to rebuild books on your Mac.

RooBook 1.0.13

· build 32

A single figure that fails validation no longer stops figure processing for the whole book.

  • If one figure fails validation, RooBook saves it with the label and number from OCR and continues with the rest.
  • Figure processing still fails when too many figures need this fallback, so problems stay visible.

RooBook 1.0.12

· build 31

The Mac app is distributed only as a signed and notarized DMG.

  • The Mac app is distributed only as a DMG signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
  • The DMG and Homebrew builds run without App Sandbox, so RooBook can work with local tools on your Mac.
  • Improved the stability of sign-in, keychain sharing, and error diagnostics.
  • Version-pinned DMGs and SHA-256 checksums are published on public storage.
